Blog KW2 – My Bucket List for the 1st Quarter of 2024
Perhaps you are wondering why I am writing about my Bucket List for the first 12 weeks of 2024? Well, I am reading 4 books at a time (again) because they are just sooo incredibly exciting and inspiring, that I can’t possibly consider simply just reading one and finishing it before I peak into the others…and then I go on for chapters and then…well, that being said…one of the books is The 12 Week Year.
Simply amazing and invigorating! A guide to shortening your execution cycle down from one year to 12 weeks and thus avoiding the pitfalls and low productivity of annualized thinking! This is the best thing that could happen to me at the start of 2024 and ALL the exciting goals I ‘ve set and planned – my Bucket List! In 12 weeks there just isn’t enough time to get complacent, and urgency increases and intensifies. The 12 week year creates focus and clarity on what matters most and a sense of urgency to do it NOW! In the end more of the important stuff gets done and the impact on results is profound. I heard of the book from my brilliant Blog Coach Judith Peters! As of now I am implementing it and here is the first of 4 Bucket Lists.
Of course I could get very detailed with my Bucket List, and then I could totally get stressed out trying to accomplish everything that is on it. A few of those many “points of interest” are: Musical in Stuttgart, Musical in Wiesbaden, window renovations on our house, de-cluttering, Website overhaul, trip to Bremen, BIRTHRIGHT’52 Ensemble formation, CD Production, and so on and so forth. However, I am proof of the fact that it is never too late to learn new tricks of the trade of life!
My Vocal Coaching Concept is holistic in its whole, but priority is definitely breath support and focus which leads a singer to clarity of tone. Lots of details between the lines, but the foundation is set!
What you are about to read in the next lines, are my 3 most important goals which I am setting as priorities for the first Quarter of 2024. This does not delete the other goals, but makes everything just a bit more doable and puts things ion their respective, perspective place.

What does this have to do with singing? For me it has everything to so with singing. Aside from my family, singing was my “first love”. But, this constant contradiction of “being” loving but at the same time not being arrogant or proud or…resulted in me making myself small (that is tough when you are always the tallest kid with largest shoe size and you keep getting told to stand tall when you sing…). Not once in my life did I hear my father tell me, that he was proud of me. He wasn’t allowed to be proud either. And of course I give him no fault – he learned it from his parents.
I am so utterly grateful to have broken these chains and that my generation has learned to speak out about these life changing qualities – of Self-love. AND…that we are learning to implement it into our lives and the lives of our children and grandchildren. Rather than judging and criticizing ourselves, we are learning to show ourselves the compassion we also show someone else. To have an appreciation, affinity and positive regard for ourselves – self-esteem and self-compassion. Accepting ourselves as we are and cultivating a deep sense of inner peace and contentment. By prioritizing our own needs and desires, we are better equipped to connect with others, pursue our passions, and achieve our goals.
And here we are, talking about the passion I have for my Mission: BIRTHRIGHT’52 and the goals I have set for myself. Mission possible with self-love!
Stay tuned for the 2nd Quarter of 2024 to find out how my new adventure with The 12 Week Year is turning out and perhaps you might want to follow suit?!
My best regards,
Your Vocal Coach, Judith
